Determination of Admission Arrangements from September 2025

If you would like your daughter to be considered for a place at Challney High School for Girls for the new intake into Year 7 in September 2025, please apply via your home local authority for a place (i.e. if you live in Luton, please apply to Luton Borough Council).

The national closing date for secondary school applications is 31st October 2024 for the September 2025 Year 7 intake. For details of Challney High School for Girls admission arrangements for September 2025 please click here.

We take pride in being a very welcoming and inclusive school to all new members of our school community. If you are a parent of a student of secondary age (11-16) and you want to know more about what it would be like to be part of our community, you are very welcome to make an appointment to look around our school.

It is always a pleasure to show visitors around. Once you have decided that Challney High School for Girls is the right school for your child, you will then need to make an application to the Luton Borough Council’s School Admissions Team. They can be contacted on: 01582 548016 or click here to go to the admissions website.

As soon as we receive your application from the Local Authority we will arrange a start date for your daughter. We are conscious of how difficult it can be to be ‘the new student’ in school and we therefore introduce new students gradually into the school and always ensure that they have a ‘buddy’ to take care of them whilst they find their feet. Throughout the whole process you, as a family, will have the support of your child's Form Tutor, Assistant Head of Year and Head of Year. They will do everything they can to ensure that a mid-year transfer to Challney High School for Girls is as smooth and successful as possible.
