Exam Information

All students will study courses that lead to a qualification whether that is a GCSE, or another kind of qualification and all will have to sit an exam to complete the course.

We want to ensure that every child is as well prepared as possible before they sit their exams at the end of Year 11 and so we give them lots of practice. It is important that students learn from an early age how to revise effectively and learn some of the techniques that will ensure they answer exam questions correctly.

We have an excellent examinations coordinator and team of invigilators who ensure that all exams, whether internal or external, are managed well and are compliant with Examination Board Regulations.

The large majority of students will sit their exams in the main examination hall; a few students with special requirements will sit their exams in a separate room where the appropriate support will be provided. It is the decision of the examination boards, not the school's decision, as to whether a student is able to benefit from examination support.

If you have any questions about examinations please contact Mr Burke, Examinations Officer.

Results Day

Exam Results will be available for students to collect from school on Thursday 22nd August 2024 between 9.30am and 11:00am.

If a student is unable to collect their results in person, a designated person may pick the results up. Our exams officer must be notified of this in advance of this day, by emailing to give your permission for someone else to collect them and also the details of the person. This designated person must bring along a photographic ID to collect the results.

We wish you the very best on Results Day.

Historic Certificates

We still have some exam certificates from previous years which have not been collected.

Students can either collect their certificates themselves or arrange for someone else to collect them on their behalf if they provide a signed letter giving permission. A signature is required on collection. Please note that we do not post certificates as they are valuable documents. If you are an ex-student and are intending to come and collect your certificates on a particular day, please telephone the school in advance and your certificates will be left in reception for you.

Please contact Mr Burke in the Exams Office if you have any questions regarding exams at Challney High School for Girls.
