Super Curriculum

What is the Super Curriculum?

Super-curricular activities are a great way to explore a subject in-depth and discover topics of interest that you would like to delve into. Super curricular activities take the subjects you study further and beyond what you have learnt at school or through extended learning.

Why should I complete tasks from the Super Curriculum?

Completing these tasks allows you to explore the subjects you love and also, experiment with those which you are not as familiar with, particularly relevant prior to choosing your GCSE options. The tasks also allow you to develop new ideas, opinions and the skill of critical thinking.

If there are specific areas you are really serious about studying, exploring them now can provide you with knowledge and skills to enhance your personal statements/college applications and also draw up these areas during discussions.

Becoming a Challney Scholar

The super curriculum is independent work that is designed to challenge you but also to be fun! It is not extended learning. When you have completed tasks, you are responsible for telling your teacher that you have done so.

Once you have completed your super curriculum tasks you will be eligible for a Challney Scholar’s badge!

Bronze scholar - 6 tasks

Silver scholar - 12 tasks

Gold scholar - 18 tasks
