Library

The library opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 4.30pm. The school stationary shop is situated in the library and stationary can be bought whenever the library is open.

The library is here to help you with ideas and information for coursework, projects, presentations or just reading for fun! We hold other items that may help you with these such as newspapers and magazines.

There are computers and printers in the library that can be used by all students before and after school as well as during break and lunchtimes.

During the year the library holds different events – watch out for information at the library and around the school for when these are being held.

The library catalogue is held on the Eclipse system, which you can use to find and reserve books by author, title or subject, held in the school library.

The number of books you can have depends on your year and these increase as you go up through the school:

KS3 are allowed 4 books at a time.

KS4 are allowed 6 books at a time.

Loan limits are increased for over the summer holidays as long as you have no overdue books or outstanding fines.

The normal loan period is 2 weeks but you can renew items and have them over the holidays. If you have overdue books you will receive notices in registration. If you do not come and renew or return them you will receive a fine. Fines are charged on books that are overdue by 10 school days; the fine rate is 1p per book per day. A replacement cost maybe charged on books that are damaged or lost.

We also run the Accelerated Reader scheme through the Library with years 7 and 8.
