THE OPTIONS PROCESS AT CHALLNEY HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS
This term pupils in year 9 will complete the Key Stage 4 options process. They will learn about the core GCSE curriculum that they will study from next year and engage in the options process, selecting the subject preferences that will enable them to further develop as influential women of the future.
At Challney High School for Girls the compulsory core curriculum in years 10 and 11 comprises:
English Mathematics Science
Physical Education Religious Education Personal Development
Pupils will select three preferences from the options on offer to complete their curriculum.
The options process concludes on the 24th March by which time we will have asked you to approve your daughter’s final preferences. Your daughter has been introduced to this process term via an options information assembly and has had a detailed introduction to the process.
The options information evening for pupils, parents and carers will take place on Thursday 9th March. On this evening you will have the opportunity to book an appointment to speak with your daughter’s core subject teachers and will also have the opportunity to learn further details of the options your daughter is considering. Final optional preferences will be made by all pupils one week after this evening.
